Rick Hansen, if you ever read this, I want to say - it was unexpected to run into you downtown Williams Lake on Oliver Street the day before your 10th aniversary speech mid April 1997 along with the late Mayor Ray Woods by your side. The next morning, at White Spot, I had the opportunity to meet you again and your family before your speech... my Mom nudged me to introduce myself to you again. Sometime in 2000, I was working at Chevron and you pulled up in your SUV by yourself to the full serve pump. You were going fishing... with your brother I think you mentioned. Each time we met, it was truly an honor to meet the Man in Motion..."the end is just the beginning"
The portrait I painted of you... it was my Mom's favorite painting... 1997 was a special year for me in many ways - finding my inspiration to paint and discovering myself as an artist.
